seem to gather round each other, however, one thing you may want to further develop,
which is dating and amorous resources for web goers, since one thing I have noticed about myself and all other
transbreeds, is that we want to increase our cultural diversity by choosing a mate who is of a set of different cultures than us. THere should be
a ch at forum for that such thing somewhere, and you should eventually have a link to there.

I just want to thank everyone who has stopped by at this Web site. I am glad to know that people care about world harmony. I hope more and more people visit this site. I just found out about this as I was browsing around. I am an Asian female. I am co ncerned about tension between black Americans and Asian Americans. I personally have no prejudice toward black Americans. But because we, Asian people in general (especially Korean Americans) are sterotypes as racists agains blacks, I have encountered many unpleasant incidents. Hi there, I'm a Ph.D. student in Government, wondering if anybody out there knows where
I could find info on racial data for non-US countries. I know that some countries have
questions about race on their censuses and some don't. My dissertation will probably
be a comparative study of ethnic mobilization patterns and censusing, so... I'm on the
lookout for racial data.

My name is Allen Steadham and I am in an interracial marriage
(I'm white and my wife is black). My wife and I have one son.
We publish self-made e-comic books (full-length continuing series')
on the Net. The first such comic that we publi shed is on race
relations, specifically racism. The main comic series ("The AR-MEN")
has biracial couples, biracial children, and will have (in future issues)
more whole stories devoted to biracial issues. These may be of some
help o r at least entertainment to some people out there cruising the Net.

It's wonderful to see a page dedicated to the end of racism. I am a European American male (or White, as some people say) and I have been dating a wonderful African American woman (or Black...) for two years. This relationship has stripped the blinders off my eyes about racism in America. I love my girlfriend very much, and it's hard when our families do not accept our relationship. I was wondering if there were other couples in the same situation. It is a very touchy subject with many people so it's hard to find other couples like mine. This is a terrific site, and I have linked it on my "Resources About Multiethnicity" page.

I would like to suggest a few movies for your list of movies with interracial themes. One is "Come See The Paradise" which takes place during World War II and stars Tamilyn Tomita and Dennis Quaid. The next two movies involve love relationships between people of the same sex, but different races. (No movies of this sort are yet included on this page.) These are "The Incredibly True Adventures Of Two Gir ls In Love" and the other is "Bar Girls."

As a biracial lesbian (Japanese/White) in a long-term relationship with another biracial lesbian (Black/White), I would love to see these movies listed so other people can see how multiethnicity plays into gay/lesbian relationships also.

Jewish (by Jewish law they are all 100% Jewish, but who's
counting?). Simply describing them as part Caucasian
doesn't do justice to their ehtnic heritage. Other famous
interethnic folks - Desi Arnez Jr. and Lucie Arnez (Cuban
and Irish); Ben Kingsley (British mom, Gujarati Indian dad)

We have been trying to get racial statistics on Taino Native American of Puerto Rico, under the Hispanic classification. It seems that the Government has shown a racist attitude when it comes to Hiapanic and Native American. I am a Taino Native American and proude of my Indigenous racial roots. Why is it, that if your name ends with Z or you speak another language that is not English, that the US Government thinks you are automaticly Hiapanic American?

I believe there is already a great reservoir of people who
are "racially" mixed. This group is Latinos. Unfortunately,
because of the U.S. One-Drop rule they either negate their
African ancestry or fall into the trap of calling themselves
"black". If only there were a way to tap this.

It is good to see a web site that has obviously based its foundation
in common sence. As an tan (in the summer) to white (winter) Irish person I really don't see what difference it should make if one person is pink and the other purple. We will all be remembered how well we love not how well we hate. Take care and have fun.

Firstly I'd like to say that this page is brilliant. I am
interracial, but I feel that mine is a little more complicated
than the average person. I was born in 1968 to a white mother (a New Zealander)
and a Fijian/Tongan father. I grew up here in Australia. I
constantly was "picked on" throughout school, as I was the
only coloured kid. I didn't feel accepted by the white community
and didn't feel at all comfortable with the Pacific Island
community, I felt like I didn't belong at all. My parents
took me to Fiji to live, and it was there (quite by accident)
that I found out (from my fathers relatives)that the father
I had known all my life, was not my own flesh & blood (or
culture for that matter). I found out th at my birth father is
an African American. I found this all out when I was 18. Now I am trying to
find out my true roots, and to learn about my new culture.
I feel that your wonderful page is certainly a beginning.

Great websit. May I suggest adding Down These Mean Streets by Piri Thomas (New York: Knopf, 1967) to your book list. This autobiography tells Piri's story as a young Puerto Rican in NYC in the 30s and 40s struggling to come to grips with being dark skinne d (refelcting a partial African ancestry) in a family where the siblings considered themselves "white." I've used this book in a course I teach, and students really responded to it.

It's set in NYC in the 30s and 40s. I've used it a couple of times in a course I teach. The students reacted favorable to it. A very powerfully written book.

I have been in my first interracial couple now for four months. I am a southern white girl dating a southern black male. We encounter a lot of stares, but no major problems as of yet. I am so happy that there is so much support out there. I believe th ere is no such thing as intr"race"ial couples. The only true race on this planet is the human race. There are only different cultures and ethnic backgrounds. If we all educated ourselves we wouldn't be prejudiced. We would have no reason to be, since prejudice is based on fear of the unknown. There's a quote in a paper I read that I beleive everyone needs to think about. "But, heaven forbid the 'races' get so intermingled we cannot tell one person's race apart from that of another's. Then how will we discriminate?" This paper was written by Creighton T. Harris and has basically been my Bible seen I became invovled in this relationship. HOYDA International Dance and Music Ensemble has been found to promote internationa l and cross-cultural friendship. It is sponsored by Stanford University Dance Department, Bechtel International Center and United Nations Association.

HOYDA's new season activities will start with a public meeting on Thursday, October 24 at Stan ford University International Center (corner of Mayfield Avenue, Lomita and Lagunita Drives), 6 PM.

On Thursday part of the meeting will be devoted to a discussion and
foundation of a HOYDA Research Institute. Potential discussion topics:< br>

Influence of music and dance on general behaviour of neighboring

a white man for the past 3 years. We have
encountered many ignorant people in our time
together. People who have done everything from
staring and whispering to singing Jungle Fever
and s creaming nasty comments at us. The strange
thing is, most of them think we don't have sense
enough to know that they're talking about us. I
know I have to forgive these people, simply
because they are ignorant and don't realize the
silliness of what they're doing. I have to
forgive as Jesus forgives. But I still makes
me extremely angry. Please email me with
suggestions on what i could say to people who
insist on being confrontational.

I am a 47 year old pissed off Mulatto. I settled in an area where I don't belong - northern Illinois - west of Waukegan, that is one of the most bigoted places I've ever been. Unfortunately I was a real naive German born army brat and had to settle down somewhere (anywhere) for more than four years to stop the wheels from spinning. Obviously I don't recommend northern Illinois for biracials. One of the towns out here, Antioch, is a place I characterize as the town that people moved to from Chicago to get as far away from the Black migration as they could without entering the Wisconsin tax structure. McHenry, to the west, was remembeedr by a friend via the often heard comment "We let them fish here".

My main reason for leaving this message is just to say thanks. Biracials are the worlds smallest minority and it's good to hear other's voices. I will be checking in for recommendations of other places to live. Is there a document available? I really want to be in a place where nobody gives a damn and color is just something that gives the person personality and makes them more interesting.

A couple of quick comments - I object to Michael Jackson's song being used in any racial unity sense. His biggest contribution to racial politi cs was to state with his body that it is ok to be Black as long as you are White.
I also want to point out that it is no longer hip to be a bigot. I have white skin and as an entertainer I work in bars so I tend to hear a lot of 'off the cuff' racia l slurs and racist jokes. If I decide to comment the first thing the person says "I'm not a bigot". I would expect that where there is a person of color, most people would back off and not say anything negative. Given my experience I would not consider this valid data about how they really feel.

Thank you for having such a useful organization. I was wondering if there
are any other people such as myself around college age, that I can
correspond with on a regular basis. It would really mean a lot to me if
you have any information on this.

I think that to have an organization dedicated to such unity and peace is
a great thing to have. Through inter-racial and inter-cultural dating,
friendships, and other such relationships is a great way to establish a
way of understanding diffe rent cultures. I admire this organization, and I
do wish to hear more about this organization.

Wow. It has been a rough life growing up as a mulatto. I'm going to be twenty next year, and the things that happened to me even as a child are still affecting me to this day. Indecision about who I really was, insecure about women for a long time gr owing up. Which race do you date? Which one are you allowed to date? All these years gone by, and yes, I have become wiser. I'm in a very secure relationship with a beautiful white woman of Russian descent named Becky, and I'm entering my third semest er of college. I plan to one day become a teacher and for any young person who may read this...Never give up your dreams. No matter what color your mother is, no matter what color your father is, or what color you are. You have the right and the freedo m to be whoever you can dream of being. Don't let anyone or anything stop you as long as you are a good person and love yourself.
